Puffin Burrow, seafront holiday cottage, Portmellon, Mevagissey, Cornwall

Puffin Burrow is a beautifully situated historic one bedroomed holiday cottage on the edge of the sea in lovely Portmellon Cove. Sit back and relax on the patio and watch the sun rise over the picturesque Chapel Point. Dream the night away with the sound of the waves and wake up to the sea view from your bed.

Summer sun to winter storms the cottage harnesses the joy from all seasons. Whilst Puffin Burrow has two sun soaked terraces to lounge on, it is also a bystander to the exciting high tides which brings mighty waves into the cove. When the tide is out the sandy beach stretches out past the cottage with captivating rock pools and beach combing opportunities. Seals can sometimes be seen only a few metres from the patio on their splash around the bay.

As close to the traditional 17th century public house as it is to the beach, Puffin Burrow holiday cottage affords a quiet location whilst not being far from amenities. Popular and picturesque Mevagissey is only a twelve minute walk away. A thriving fishing port with a host of interesting shops, cafes and restaurants, set among the ancient streets and historic harbour.

On the Patio

The cottage is ideally located for enjoying the surrounding area's many attractions, including The Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project, National Trust Properties such as Lanhydrock House, together with Cornwall's many beautiful beaches and coves. Situated on the Southwest Coastal Path, Portmellon is a good base for walking. The bay is popular for kayaking and paddle boarding which you can hire right by the beach (Seasonal) along with an instructor if required. If you don't fancy having a go, Puffin Burrow is great for watching the activity.
